Is lookin for wood to cook with.
I couldn't find this mentioned here, and if it has been, it bears repeating on every forum I'm a member of:
If you have a small Kidde extinguisher, going way back to the 70's, it's likely under a recall.
If you've registered your equipment, you may have gotten a little bit of mail from them that looked like junk and tossed it.
You can check yours here.
It's easy to contact them over the phone :1-800-880-6788 or through the web site. They will mail out replacement units if yours is determined to be under the recall and you may or may not be asked to mail the defectives back, at Kidde's cost.
I did use one of their recalled units, before I knew about the recall and it 100% failed to function. The nozzle shot off of it hard enough to leave a ding in some outdoor wood furniture I have, it let out a little fart of white powder and then nothing, so I thought it was worth mentioning this in all of the forums I'm a member of.
It's a little unsettling thinking about what could have happened if things wouldn't have gone "Just so," when I tried to use the one I did.
Safety first and third!
