What to smoke in my new cast iron pan?

Just picked up a deep cast iron pan. Looking for something with potatoes to smoke. Anyone want to share?

Also thinking of some doctored up baked beans.

Do some beef short ribs with taters. Makes a great meal. Or how about beef shanks, taters and carrots?

Have you seasoned it yet? As much as I like cast iron, I've not been happy with the pre-seasoned stuff...Used it one time and then seasoned it myself.

I haven't seasoned it yet. it looks like it needs to be. Are you suggesting cooking on it first?

I would braise them after I floured them and threw them in a bit of butter, then add water and beef broth,onions and carrots then when almost done throw in some taters. This would all be after I threw a little smoke at em. Good luck and post pics. Beef ribs or shanks are fantastic comfort food.
