First Pron -- Cherry Coke Injected Pork Butt

Hi all, my first pron to post. Took some flat cherry coke, apple cider vinegar and injected this bad boy. Turned out really well, although I'm not confident the flavor of the cherry coke actually did anything. It was a bit of an experiment admittedly!

15 1/2 hours later the egg (BGE) hatched this beauty.

Looks GREAT. It looks like someone BBQ'ed one of my thighs. Okay, it's not as fat as my thigh....
 
Looks great, but that's a funny looking shoulder bone for a butt...:tongue:

1. Did you like the taste?

1) Yes, loved the taste. Family enjoyed the heck out of it as well. Just not sure about the Cherry Coke adding anything to the flavor profile. I'm sure it did, but I wasn't able to pick up on it.
2) It was a Picnic Cut, 11.2 lbs.

Good looking pork!! I sometimes inject with an apple juice / Mountain Dew mix, it gives a nice sweetness.
