I believe his original pit in Brenham was a used Klose pit that he bought...I can't remember if that's right, but for some reason it seems to be ringing a bell.

Someone must be making pits that look very similar to Mobergs then. I looked pretty closely at them. They have the same firebox design and same smokestack curve. The only difference I saw is the circular vents on the firebox doors. I haven't seen a moberg like that. And you are right they don't say Moberg on the side like his do. I wonder who made them because they're super similar.
