When I woke up this morning, my intent was to write something to summarize my goals and qualifications related to my campaign. Staring at the keyboard I repeatedly found myself thinking of others that I've chosen to run with.

Jeff Stith: For those that don't know, I actually banned him from this forum until Phil intervened. I later apologized, and Jeff was gracious enough to accept that apology and we've developed a friendship over the years. Evidence that he is willing to get past issues, that some would hold onto. If I want to know what's on his mind, I simply have to ask. Whether I agree or not, I know where he stands and I appreciate and respect that. We don't agree on every issue, but we agree on enough of the important ones that I'd like to serve on the board with him. The journey that Jeff and Tammy Stith have taken in competition BBQ is chronicled on this forum. From their first contest, to their run in the ToY race last year. I hope you will seriously consider supporting Jeff with your vote.

Dave Compton: I joke about Dave being the only judge I don't have concerns about when I see him with his cooler. That cooler is full of beer, and smoked cheese that he shares as he makes his rounds visiting with his friends. He takes the time to interact with the teams that have become friends. He's also very thoughtful when it comes to the process and takes it as seriously as the most serious cooks. I've said that it's 1% of the judges that have most cooks talking when being critical. Dave is at the other end of the scale. I wish we could clone him. His voice is one I think we really need on the board. Please consider giving Dave your vote.

Steve Farrin: If I only had one vote, it would go to Steve. Great cook, business owner, past President of NEBS, and honesty and integrity in spades. We don't agree an all issues, but we do on the ones I feel are the most important. In the cases where we disagree, I can live with it because I understand that he honestly believes in his position and won't sway for convenience. Just as important is that I know that he will voice his opinion when he disagrees with something. I said it up front; if I only had one vote he'd get it and I hope you will seriously consider giving him one of your four.

I wouldn't have run with any of these guys, if I didn't believe that they would make a positive difference if elected. I'll get around to pimping myself later. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that the membership takes the time to vote this year. If you haven't read the December Bullsheet, take a look at kcbs.us and you can find it in the member section. Based on numbers from last year, the current board is representing about 18% of the membership. Pretty scary, if you ask me.

The winners will be announced at the banquet.

Unless someone posts them earlier (like @ the Jack) !

my votes in for Fab 4! I went thru all the runners and setting aside personal reservations, I really felt this was best for KCBS. Good luck to all !

I agree with Phil 100%, that is who I voted for.
I know 3 of the Fab 4 personally and have the utmost confidence in them.
Mr. Farrin is the only one that I have not me personally, but if the other 3 say he is awesome I believe my friends.
P.S. If you are a member in good standing....(dues paid) the please get out and vote.
