IF you were going to use charcoal at a competition, what brand would you use (assuming that all brands were available to you)?

If you weren't using that brand, what would your second choice be?

Thanks!

Eric

IF all brands were available to me, I'd insist on Rancher.

If I weren't using that -- well, I'll let you know when the massive stack in the garage dwindles a bit more.

It depends on the cooker really. For briquettes I like Kingsford, for lump either B&B or Royal Oak.

If I could use anything for competition it would have to be wicked good briquettes. But what I use is kingsford.

In order:
Level one: Bigi Green Egg, Humphreys, Maple Leaf (and wicked good competition blend if it were still available)
Level Two: Royal Oak (US)
This is all lump charcoal I am talking about.

I use Rancher Briq's exclusively !!.. Best Briq on the market i think !!.. burns hot, clean, and not bad ash build-up.

As far as lump goes, I burn BGE lump in my egg, or Royal oak Lump.

Well, I've never used anything but Kingsford...So i'd probably use Kingsford.

No choice in So Cal really. Kingsford or lump. Never really cared for royal oak.
