Tandoori Chicken with Skewers in the Egg

Straining the Yogurt for an hr.

Marinading chicken in the frig. overnight

Straining marinade again for an hr.

Skewering up the chicken

Egg at 500*

In the Egg

Closed the dome

After 15-min.

Checked them and put back for 5 more min.

Served with asparagus and couscous. This was wonderful we well do it again next week at 600*

Recipe:
Marinade
1C nonfat yogurt drained through a fine sieve for an hr.
juice of 2 lemons
4 cloves of garlic or more
1-in. piece fresh ginger minced
2t garam masala
2t ground cumin
1/2t cayenne pepper
1/2t paperika
Kosher salt
Marinate overnight

I concur with Ross. that marinade i use one similar kicks booty. Indian and Armenian Q'ing are a nice change up for the American style.

Excellent! I love Indian food! I cook it all the time but have never tried Tandoori on the grill. I will now!

Nice use of the Egg. Was the chicken on top done about the same as the chicken on the lower part of the skewers?

Speaking of skewers, where'd you get those? They look very nice.

Nice! I have to try this sometime. Of course, I will have to find the authentic skewers! it just wouldn't be the same without them.
