Here's my idea, we know that only one or two of us actually live on just BBQ.
So I propose just this, a plate thread.
A picture and description or just a description if you can't post a picture. Of our every day meals,
this is not a contest, here is why I'm thinking of this.

SmokinAussie's thread in woodpile
where he has been kind enough to answer a lot of questions about his homeland.
This made me think, even here
our culture varies widely depending on which part of the country we live in. BBQ low and
slow connects us and makes us a
strong force, but what else do we eat.

I will start with this here vvvvvvv

Above, I charbroiled some chuck patties,
sautéed some onions and mushrooms on the grill.
I put the patties in a baking dish
and cover with the onions and mushrooms.
I then spooned a beef gravy over this and baked on 350* for half an hour.

Homemade Char grilled Salisbury Steak

I try to start off the day with a responsible breakfast, like this bowl of oatmeal on Kentucky Derby Day.

Fish is pretty popular around my house, this is some fish and chips. Yes, that's pan fried salmon.... it's not a traditional way to cook it, but it's fantastic.

Well, Indian food isn't the most photogenic food in the world, but this is what I cooked up for dinner tonight. To be honest, I'm probably more into Indian cooking than BBQ, but I'll deny ever saying that. :-D

Curried chicken thighs with roasted puree of coconut and almonds, Biryani (rice casserole) with cilantro / mint puree and saffron, Masoor Dal (lentils) with ginger, cumin and garam masala, and Gujerati-style green beans with black mustard seed, garlic and crushed chili:

Homemade by my wife:shocked: meatloaf, I made buttermilk biscuits, green beans, potatoes in a roué I made up.

Potatoes;

3 cans sliced potatoes
2 sticks butter
2 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste.
1/2 cup flour m/l

Melt butter in a sauce pan then add flour and stir until the roué thickens. Then add milk and stir often until thickens, add potatoes and heat through. Salt and pepper to taste. I also add yellow food dye for color.

Hey, great thread Jacob! I'll post a few things when I get the chance!

Cheers!

Bill

Nice Chili! love the breadbowl! What kind of bread is that?

That is sourdough, it holds together nice but a bit chewy. I chose it because that's all there was tonight that would make a good bowl. What they call white mountain here makes a nice bowl for soups and stews.
