I woke up early this morning to get a brisket on the cooker. I had intended to skip breakfast and go back to bed but then read Plowboy's Cornbread Waffle post and I was hungry.
I cut a strip steak in half and pounded it out with a tenderizer.
I dreged the cutlets in seasoned flour, dunked in an egg and buttermilk bath, and dredged again in flour before frying them up in a skillet.
I made a cream gravy with the drippings.
I poured a little gravy on the steak and had the foundation of a hearty breakfast.
The steak looked lonely so I paired it with eggs and hash browns.
Still concerned about a lack of protein, I decided to add some bacon.
