Had a great time at yesterday’s competition. There was only 4 entries’ in to it but we managed to take first place. We got local bragging rights and it was nice to see how it is to have a timed smoke. Everything really went well, butt finished ahead of schedule and so did the ribs. The one bad thing was the heat, hottest day this year so far so we were slow roasting also. Here are some pics I wasn’t able to get a ton but managed to get a couple. We had a blast and also messed with the other teams by passing out Moink balls, ABT’s, and some rib tips. You could see the fear in their eyes after a quick taste.

Good on ya Jerod. Looks like it all worked out. When we got home I couldn't believe how hot it was in the evening. What kind of cookers were the others using? Does anyone have any skills other than you up here?

Most had gas grills if you can believe that....Hanzels and Gretels was there cooking also....Not trying to sound smug or anything but no there really wasn't much competition there...par for the course in a small town. I want to help organize it next year and get it bigger...we shall see
