Babbling Farker
When I heard about Oakridge BBQ's new offering, Habanero Death Dust, I was quite excited.....I placed an order for 3. I love a good hot wing, so I couldn't wait to try it.
Clipped the tips, and put into a Ziplock with EVOO & HDD. I let them marinate for an hour or so, then applied another dusting of HDD.
Onto the Lg BGE, had the temp at around 300.
Flipped and rotated for a couple hours...
Here is the finished product, looking fantastic...
My disappointment came when I tasted them, very one dimensional flavor profile. All it really had to offer, was a bit of burn...No sweetness, or tang whatsoever. This was advertised as a stand alone rub, at least that's how I interpreted it. IMO, it is far from it. I can totally see this being added as a heat component to some other base rub, but I got no joy when using it by itself. I am sure there will be opinions to the contrary, but now you know mine.
:tsk:
