Good luck. Just lightly oil it after each cook
I like to wipe down with Pam. Eventually it will be like a cast iron skillet.

^^^^what he said, i spray down both before and after eack cook

Absolute best way is to never light a fire in it. Other than that I wouldn't worry about keeping paint on it. I'd just keep it oiled down and it will continue to look nice.

Actually, I would say that the best thing you could do was to put the cooker in safe hands. I for one, am willing to take one for the team and take care of the paint on the firebox. Just send the smoker on over here and all will be good.

Don't paint it after heating it, not in the sun, just common sense. Oh yeah, I used to own a paint factory. All the other above advise is good too.:becky:
