I came across Smoke Dawgs post from a few months back and had to give it a try. http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=207529

One stick of butter and a chopped onion in the tub, grilled the sausages, added a can of beer to the tub, then let them soak for about 15 minutes. Served with chili and cheese. The sausages turned out really good.
