8 Whole chickens $8.00

I was leaving work last night (butcher) and on the way out I spotted a box in the walk-in tucked in the corner. I poked into it and the morning crew had marked down some 3-4 lb whole fryers for a dollar each. I GRABBED it.

Froze 4 for a experimental day in the near future
Oven roast 4 and made shredded chicken

Reminds me of a couple of years ago at Wally; someone put a shipment of whole chix marked/labeled for fresh sale in the freezer and caught it when they were partway frozen and moved them back to the cooler. Some sort of regulation stated they had to be sold within so many hours so they marked them down to like $0.05/lb.!!! I had two shopping carts FULL of $0.30-$0.40 chickens! I filled up my freezer and gave a bunch away on a "one for me/one for you" storage plan in some other friends' freezers too! Great score!
