So i have done pork butts when i make my pulled pork. I am thinking of using a shoulder since the local store has them for 99 cents a lbs. Do i need to prep it differently than i do my butts. I use the Chris Lilly rub and injection on my butts. Any thoughts on this would be great.

I do them the same, but I leave the skin on and put it skin side down.
Protects from the bottom getting dry and the meat peels right off easily.
But I also sometimes sepperate it and rub inside the skin.

The skin can make for some good eats if you can get it crispy. After smoking I'll throw it in a pan and fry it up like bacon almost.
