Mahogany and walnut

I've tried sapele...

I build custom doors and produce a ton of sapele scraps and wish that it was good for cooking but, the only time I tossed some in the stick burner I pulled it out because of the smell. Maybe I'll try again on some chicken thighs so it won't break my heart too bad if it's terrible.

Both useable but very strong smoke due to the heavy resins in the wood.

Build furniture with it. ;)

Can't say on the walnut, but the Mahogany of that type is used a lot for outdoor items from trailer flooring to furniture. It's used because the resins in the wood make it impervious to insects and mother nature. I do not believe that you will like the results. I burn scraps in my firepit, and use the Apitong for kindling. It lights fast and hot.
