OK. I have two with a side fire box. First the larger of the two, A Char Broil Silver Smoker. Mods are:

Five adjustable tuning plates, 5" x 16" x 1/4"

Steel baffle at the fire box

Charcoal basket

Raised the charcoal grate

Added pneumatic wheels on both ends

Removed stock exhaust and added a
4" x 36" tall pipe on the end

Added two thermometers at grate level

And here is the Mini Reverse Flow, no mods needed on this baby!

I started to use this one about 4 months ago. I had it in storage while I burned the heck out of the Old one.

Baffle Mod

Here's the Old one. I am going to try to restore it.

Lotsa good grub came off her.

Here's one I scored right in little ol' Wyocena for $100. Only used it once. I added a baffle where the FB meets the horizontal, and 1/4" tuning plates. I also added a second thermo on the horizontal and one to the door of the vertical.

Here's one my dad built out of an old propane tank. He's added a wood basket to the bottom since the pic was taken and next weekend he's going to have it sandblasted and powdercoated.

Here is a 6'x30" tank I picked up that is just starting to take shape. All I've done so far is put it on casters so it's mobile and remove that squared off platform on top.
