A bit ago, someone posted about making tiny little fatties for appetizers.
For the life of me, I can not find the post--sorry
Got me to thinking though.

I need "horse de serves" for a neighborhood gathering next month. One neighbor can not eat pork for health reasons.
So, I did the "Micro Fatties" (my name for them) my way
Plan was to cook and then cut in half for serving to show the filling.

My standard stuffing is--cream cheeze, tex mex cheeze, fine chopped peppers, onions, various meats, garlic, spices, and basically what ever looks good and needs to come out of the pantry or refrig

Most were JD Maple stuffed with bacon wrapping.
Some were just stuffed hamburger (15 % fat).
A couple of variations in-between.

Lessons learned.
Works wonderful !
Hamburger needs a "kick" in flavor from some spices!
Need to buy "really thin" sliced bacon next time and wrap it around the Micro Fattie instead of "end-to-end".

I am sure there are a thousand variations to this! Ain't BBQ grand

OH--cook time at mid 200's was somewhere around 1.5 hours.

Wish I could take pics like ThirdEye--sorry

Great fun!

Those look great. How long do you think it took you to put each one together.

I can see the overall time add up quick to make enough for a party.

I "have not the foggiest" as to time

Like everything else we do in cooking--time is a relative thing

I made these the day before cooking/testing. Best guess--an hour or so.
Next time for the same amount--maybe 45 minutes.
The time after that--probably 30 minutes.
The next time--train Karen and she will do them in 10 minutes flat

Just funnin'

Lke anythng else--practice trims the time.

Worth the effort to me.

I like the idea of doing them with ground beef wrapped in bacon. I may try that with some nice rub added to the beef along with some thick sauce for dipping.

I bought a tube of turkey sausage that I am going to smoke in my first run on my BGE, which I hope is ready this week.

Look great! I've never made them wrapped in bacon but I love making little fatties, aka shorties, for guests! Need to add some bacon I think...

Clint--that is the inspiration I was looking back for and could not find!
Sorry I did not credit you properly

I can see lots of potiential for the basic concept!
Thanks!

Dang, those look like they'd be fun to make and eat!! I bet they would cook in about 45 mins on the drum. Quick eats for the cook!!!

I am gonna be lazy and just tack my pics onto this thread so I don't have to go searching for mine.

Here are the two sausages I used

Along with other random items on the table from New Years cooking all day.

Here it is about an hour in the oven and the Emeril Cooker (didn't do to bad)

In its finished stage right after being cut and before plating.

And here it is sliced up and partially eaten...people kind of attacked it before I could whip out the camera.

I think a better name for these is "Puppy Peters". Kind of goes with the flow. Not that I know anything about that.
