As for thermometers, I'm sure there's some high end pricey ones out there, but I'm using one of these on mine and have had good luck with it-http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-BBQ-CHARCOAL-GRILL-PIT-WOOD-SMOKER-TEMP-GAUGE-THERMOMETER-2-5-STEM-SS-RWB-/160859397963?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2573f79f4b#ht_911wt_1095 Just make sure to get something large enough so it's easy to read, and has small degree increments.

Found some matches.
I did a little horse trading by offering a stainless tight head drum for this open top stainless. I normally use the stainless tight heads to build grills.

Thanks rocketmanray. The GT engineers that I work with are still calculating cooking grate angles and entering pin charts for controls.....we're eating chicken! Go Dawgs!
