Made some Chili today and its a little too hot. Kind of leaves their throat and lips burning. I have to settle it down some for the kids and I can't remember how.. Any help?

You could put half the chili ( or less as req. ) put in in a strainer and rinse with water .
Then put it back in with the rest of the chili.....

Yes- sour creme and brown sugar did the trick. My mind was drawing a blank and you rescued the chili.- Thanks

Cheese, sour cream, tomatoes diced on top, cilantro. These should all help. Heat also puts hair on a kid's chest!

Sounds odd, but vodka works. (In the chili, not the cook.)

Do what Keri does with the beans add some pie filling....

Toss in a whole, peeled potato or two and simmer for a couple of hours. The potato will suck out a lot of the seasonings

if you mean before you cook, try soakin the jala in sprite or 7up over night. takes the heat out but not the taste.

Add a can of red kidney beans. Also, the post mentioning simmering with some cubed potatoes works too.
