• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

After much deliberation I finally ordered my first smoker. Went with with the Brinkman Smoker King Deluxe. Looked around at a lot of sites and I couldn't believe the range in prices $349-$500. Finally found a site that offered $199.99 Called to see why so cheap. Come to find out that the Brinkman Rep P'ed off the store manager and he wasn't carrying Brinkman anymore. In fact they are blowing out what they had left. Sounded good so I bought her. Shipping wasn't exactly cheap but hey it's ordered.

I can imagine the shipping would not be cheap! Wait til you get that box! Took two guys to unload it off the Lowe's truck at our house! God help the UPS or FedEx guy if you aren't home when it arrives!

Congrats! Just make sure you install your baffle as you put it together. Actually, you have time to make it before your smoker arives. I love my BSKD!

Ok so that doesn't look real easy. Do you make it out of a single piece of sheet metal? And I take it that it goes form the smoke box into the smoker

It's real easy. Use tin snips if you got them, borrow or buy if you don't. When I had a bandera, I used a cookie sheet from WalMart to make my baffle. Cut out the template in paper first. make sure it prints the right size, then take it with you when you go to buy the baffle material. That's how I was able to pick out the right size cookie sheet.

Congrats on the order! You sure got lucky on the sale price, but I hope shipping didn't eat ALL of your savings. :)

Looks like my patio slate on the bottom of the cook chamber. Never thought of that.

Congrats on the decision and ENJOY !! You have picked a well liked and versatile cooker based on many posts over several months.

I did my Bandera baffle with sheet metal (NOT galvanized !!) from Home Depot. Some Brethren have made a good one from HD foil until they had time to do the 'final' version.

Man those tiles look like they are from a table my wife has. Think she'll miss a few. I guess if she sets a glass down and it goes through and smashes on the floor she might. I take it that is a mod as well and doesn't come that way from the manufacturer.

You only get the tile from the manufacturer if you ordered the Martha Stewart model, otherwise you are on your own.

Hey Noah! Thanks for posting the baffle specs again! I used some sheet aluminum when I made mine a year ago, and it's starting to crumble. I have to make a new one and was gonna need those specs again. Seems I ought to go with something a little heavier this time.
