• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

It looks like a Extra Large EGG could be in my future. I checked with BBQ Galore (only place in Tucson). I also checked with a couple other dealers in So. AZ.

BBG is at $1100.00 with a nest, others were at about the same price without the nest.

Are there better deals (other than CL) I would want a new one. It seems the shipping would offset the cost of buying local.

Ideas? Are there ever any blow out specials?

Can you buy direct from the manufacturer? Maybe DrBBQ could hook me up...

i am new so this might be off but read some where on here that you might be able to buy a demo. I no you said new but maybe this is something to think about.

You can get a demo if you reserve one at an Eggfest. Not sure there are any in his area.

Just remember that you'll need a plate setter and ash tool at a minimum to get started for indirect cooks.

Thillin, aren't all the Eggfest demos the large size, not extra large?

Denver they are just large, Springfield X Large $899.00 with nest

Thanks, Will be sure to get those.

Are there different hinge options? Also what about the exhaust, are there options on that as well? Daisy wheel???

Looks like I will just need to negotiate with BBQ Galore. They make it sound like they are gone as soon as they hit the floor.

I lucked out then.. XL for 799 in Maryland... and it's FAB-U-LOUS!!!

Daisy wheel, ceramic cap, and feet are standard with all eggs. Some places package deals include the nest, ash tool, grid gripper and starter cubes. Thirdeye's thirdhand grate lifter blows BGE's away. I think it's a must have for any egg or grill.

Eggs By The Bay has sold out of it's demo eggs. You had a choice of a large w/nest for $599 or an XL w/nest for $849. These are demo eggs used for the one day festival that are a super deal for someone wanting their first egg or just adding another to the family. Check the other Eggfests happening around the country or keep an eye on craigslist and also try asking around on the Egghead forum at

I found my small BGE on the egghead forum this last weekend.

For what it's worth I ran into a veteran of the egg forum (Mike Love) at a BBQ Galore in Corona. He is from Havasu. He told me he buys there because he can't find any local dealer that will be around tomorrow. He says for warranty issues BBq Galore will get parts and not charge shipping.
If price is sole objective My wife bought from Homeclick .com. There was a delivery issue I attributed to the holiday season but a good price. There is a small disclaimer on Egg home page about internet warranty but I am sure as good as a company as they are they would stand behind product. Also try Freds music and BBq.

I would add that especially with an XL I would buy from an authorized dealer. They seem to have lots more problems with cracked fireboxes etc.
