Hello all,

Is it just me or does it seem like it takes a while for a WSM to produce TBS? I have a 22". Usually light 10-20 brickue
ttes and let them ash over in a chimney starter. I usually fill the charcoal basket with charcoal and have tried both wood chucks on top of buried throughout the charcoal and leave a hole inn the center of the charcoal basket to dunno the hot coals. Sometimes it takes over an hour to get to TBS. Anybody else have similar experiences or suggestions to get to TBS sooner? Thanks in advance

As long as you're starting with unlit charcoal, there's no getting around it. With a full basket, mine takes 45 mins or so before I can add the meat. I don't necessarily wait for TBS, but I definitely wait for the thick smoke to subside.
