• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I added some side handles to the WSM and thought they could do double duty and serve as brackets for a couple side tables. The handles are Genie garage door handles that are almost the exact size as the rack mounting hardware, so they just bolt on For the tables I used some leftover pieces of Ipe (ironwood) decking from my Egg table and used some threaded rod and a T-nuts that just slide into the handles. Granted you would'nt want to put a lot of weight on these but are strong enough to hold some thermometers and such.

What do you think?

Pretty Nifty. I like the way it looks. I don't think I've even seen anything that good over on the virtual bullet.

That is soo cool. Looks like the little fella is getting ready to take off.

The tables don't look level though. How about putting a third brace on them by mounting a rod the goes from the middle outside of the table angled down to the WSM. This would allow for plenty of weight, maybe too much as it might tend to make it top heavy and fall over.

I was going to pick up some handles today, but like that table idea.

I am not picturing how that goes together exactly tho  , can you post a closeup of one of the handles with the setup...Thanks!

Pretty Cool. I need something like that as well for my WSM. I have one that mounts to my Weber Kettle. Have to drag a deck chair up close to my WSM now to set my thermometers on.

Nicely done.

Did you drill out the center of the rivet on the top vent to hook your thermometer thru?

Yes, I did drill out the rivet and found an eyelet that fit the Weber thermometer and it has a speed nut behind it.

They do look a little crooked, but they level out when I put a washer and wing nut on the rod and tighten. The idea was to keep them portable and to hold a couple thermometers, tongs, gloves or small items at hand without having another table cluttering up the deck. When the WSM is not fired up they break down and the cover fits over the handles.

Your door looks brand new.

Have you used it yet?

Mine is all farked up, dirty, and the vents bent to chit from falling over in the wind

You could add a leg on the edge of each shelf to hold more weight.

Nice job. Does your cover fit over the handles? I know mine are so tight it reminds me of putting on a..., well you know.

Kirk- The cover does fit-snug like the luv glove!

Looks nice, but seems like a recipe for disaster via tipping!

Have you loaded it to see how much weight can be placed before entering the tilt zone?
