• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

no not the ones we usually see. I'd like to hear what other mods you;d like. I;d like the lips to be reversed so the top overhangs the middle and middle over the bottom. The top to fit snug over the bottom. An ash release on the bottom for mid cook ash removal. How about a second door on the other side to handle the fire when adding, moving coals. Just some thoughts. Scott

I'd like to see a pre drilled and tapped hole to insert a thermometer in the center of the cooking chamber, and deeper water pan ..Wi-Doe

good sugestions. I find working in the rain it get's into the bottom and causes problems...a 22.5 incher, that's got real potential!

I've been wanting to put a thermometer in mine. I can't decide if I need to put it in the dome or on the side. I would think mounting on the side at cooking surface would give skewed temp readings do to the heat rising right up the sides. Any thoughts?

I would think a longer probe would help.

BBQ Guru sells a kit that lets you replace the screws on one of the rack holders with eylets for probes. Pretty to install and they're only $7.95.

Anyone put a small hole in the bottom of the WSM to drain water?

Why would you need to do that?
Just curious.

I did that on all three of mine. I found that on the occasions that I cooked in the rain, water settled in the bottom of the WSM causing a mess. Also, being that I am lazy by nature, I often leave them sitting outside. Once again the water settles in the bottom. I just drilled a small hole in each one so as not to mess with the airflow. Tried it on one first and after a dozen or so cooks where it did not mess with the temps, I did it to the other two. I guess if your not lazy like I am and don't cook in the rain, its not necessary.
