• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Saw a product that extends WSM via ring type mod. Anyone familiar with a co. called ProBBQ? I hesitate to link.

That's a UK WSM clone and I don't think the ring will fit.
EZ-Que makes a Rotisserie ring for an 18.5" kettle and it might fit the WSM.

The do indeed make an expansion ring specifically for a WSM. Someone over on Basso's forum was posting pictures of it in action this weekend.

No definite word on availablity yet but an approximate sales price of $75 was mentioned.

OK- I saw the posts on TVWB forum and and this guy is in Germany and all he shows is the ProQ ring sitting next to the WSM and a few shots of temp readings and meat pics. No pics of it in actual use on the WSM.

So, it's new on the market...and the $75.00 I would have to think about.

Well it dosen't appear to be available in the US yet and if you go to their links it shows some dealers in Toronto. A few months back the ProQ was all over the forums and they were making a showing at a convention on the East Coast, the buzz kind of died down. Carbon Toe in the UK might know something?

Howdy folks...

The "german guy" who posted it was me.
Im new to this forum since a couple of weeks and just posted my introduction in the "cattle call".

I had a nice chat with Ian from Probbq at the SPOGA trade show in Cologne, and as he didnt want to take all of his samples back to the UK, i was lucky and got one of his samples.

They produce a Smoker quite similiar to the WSM, but its about 1" less in diameter.

The WSM Stacker is made especially for the WSM.
It seems to be made of the same quality like the WSM Material, but i like the grates even a little better than the WSM grates.

The Stacker fits exactly and is tight without any air leaks.

The Ring is abozt 12" tall and has a door thats attached to one side, so it wont fall out like the WSM door sometimes does.
Also, there a pair of handles and a probe thermometer eyelet.

Ißm very pleased with the stacker, handling was easy and the temperatures were always within 10 F difference from the top WSM
grate and the stacker grate.

The Stacker also fits 18" Weber kettles when you turn it ipside down.
The final version will have two sets of brackets so you can use the Stacker/grate eitherway.

I tried stacking middle sections before, but its way less stable and you have to seal it with aluminum foil.

Yeah man, that looks awesome. I posted my reply without noticing your pics, that's awesome and I will definitely be ordering one myself when if/it's available in the US.

ProQ seem to be gunning for US sales at the moment, and it's understandable as there really isnt a UK market for smokers.

I'm yet to see any of their products in stores but more and more UK web sites are beginning to sell them.

As Don has already mentioed it, they have produced a extension rng for the WSM but it is unavailable to purchase.

I am amazed that Weber doesn't seem too interested in BBQ (low and slow). They have one of the most recognized name anywhere. They build great products. It is just astounding that they don't seem to have any real interest. Sure they market some accessories that allow for indirect cooking.... Nothing that increases the square area for cooking.

I absolutely LOVE my WSM. And the OTG and Smokey Joe too. The only drawback being space.

With all the interest in BBQ, competitions, and cookers in general, one would think that Weber would want to capture some of that marketshare?!?! If they had a supercharged version of the WSM, I'd be one of the first people in line.

A Weber dealer and I had this very conversation. He stated that the WSM is not a high sales volume item for them, and they struggle to keep it in production?!?! Given the following, I have a hard time believing that.

For ease of use and cost, its tough to beat a WSM.

My sentiments exactly. Order parts for my WSM the other day, and had to explain to the gal on the other end what a WSM was, and that Weber did indeed manufacture it. Then she sent me the wrong parts after I gave her the #s. Would be interested in the extentsion when it's available.

I think Weber will never sell this.

Why sell you a $100 (est) Extension Ring, when they can nail you for $200+ to get a second one

Sorry I thought that was the Pro BBQ that made the extension we were discussing. On second look it's not. Very similar.
