• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I am so bummed out. I purchased a WSM from Amazon and paid for 3 day shipping. Man I had plans. It arrived today and when I opened the box the lid/cover had a big ding in it and it was out of shape. I didn't even unpack any further. I am really bummed out. I ordered a Brinkman charcoal pan and was prepared to mod and run that sucker. Now, its going to be 3 to 4 weeks before I get a return. Who knows if that one will be damaged. This sucks, I was excited to get going. If I would have bought it somewhere else it would have cost me fifty to a hundred more but I could have taken it back and have a new one in a matter of hours.     . I'm so pissed off!!!

I can just imagine how frustrating this must be.

Are you sure that the unit was not drop shipped from Weber? If so, they might FedX a replacement. I sure would give Weber a call and find out if they will do something for you on this.

Sorry to hear that leanza. I just got my new WSM through Amazon with free shipping and all is good.
Surely they will make it right. But you still gotta wait for the first cook and that's a bummer!

Of course you could just go out and buy one at full price new.
And add the other when it shows up.
(immediate gratification mod)

I had the lower bowl out of round (that could probably be phrased a little better)...Anyway, called Weber, gave the letter off the top vent and had a new one on the front porch in 3 days.

Made some legs for the banged up one and used it as a little fire pit.

I agree, call Weber. They may just send you a new one (lid or center) and let you use the one you have for the time being.

HSLS, the return lable says Amazon in Reno Nevada. I don't see any indication that its from a Weber wharehouse. I was thinking Weber would not be intrested in helping because it appears to be a Amazon shipping issue. When I went on Amazon to get the return going the indicate that UPS will pick it up withing 3 business days and that once it gets to Amazn it takes 7 to 14 days to process the the replacement. I can't imagine they will send it any other way but normal ground shipping which could take 7 to 10 days.

I just read on another board that Weber does replace damaged parts if your order came from Amazon.

Give Weber a call!

Was the box damaged? There have been other issues as well with WSMs being out of round, damaged, etc with no indication it happend during shipping. I bought mine at BBQ Galore, and the center is out of round. They are sending me a new one, and are good to work with.

The hell with waiting that long. Go find a hardware store around you that carries it. Buy it, then return the damaged one. The store isn't out any thing, they send it back and get credited with another one to sell.

I bought a couple from Amazon late last year. ! was missing parts. I called Weber and they had the parts on my door in 3 days too. It was shipped by Amazon, not Weber and I told Weber that. Now that's customer service.

As the others have said, call the Weber Customer Support line. They will warranty it. Had a middle section that was out of round when I got mine from Amazon a couple of years ago... Called Weber, 2 days later I was cooking...

James.

Dude, my fathers day gift-ordered by me on amazon came the same way.
22 1/2 inch grate with the flip up sides for my weber came bent with a busted off handle. I was pissy to say the least. No problem.
The reciept has repacking instructions to give it right back to your mail carrier.
We got a new one in like 4 days. Can't wait to use it!

I would go to the Weber Stephens plant in Palatine and pick up a replacement. Should take no more than an hour

Move to Illinois.

We have everything

Gpad to hear about such good customer service from Weber. I just ordered a WSM from Amazon in part because of this thread. ( I also just wanted a dedicated chicken cooker!!).......stan

I took you all's advice and called Weber customer service last night about 7pm wct. I'm impressed to say the least. ( I'm also pissed that Ieven had to go through any of this.) They actually had a live person:shock: to speak to and I figure it was 10pm ect:shock: . Weber is going to send me my part, two day UPS, no cost to me:shock: . The Weber rep., Rene, did not hesitate to reassure me that they would back up their product. They could of passed it off on Amazon and saved themselves time and money.

One other thing that caught my attention, although I forgot to ask about it. When I mentioned my delima and the fact that my bro's from this board had encouraged me to contact Weber, I could of swore she commented something along the line like, "I know, I saw " or something like that. Could be my imagination or could be they "fear the pig".8)

Anyway, I gotta give it up to you all and to Weber for the help, thanks very much!

Glad it turned out well... at least under the circumstances!!

As I posted a couple of weeks ago and other's have testified... Weber's customer service is awesome!!!
