It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Is the stainless door replacement worth it as far as sealing most if not all leaks OR would the gasket kit nullify said stainless door? Maybe just get both?

I did the gasket kit and lightly bent the door to fit, works great and the gasket has been on now for three years,

If you don't mind me asking where did you get the kit from. By the way I've been to the Union Woodshop in Clarkston. It was good and that area is beautiful.

you can get the kit on line lots of people carry it, do a search for WSM 22.5 GASKET KIT, the wood shop is nice but pricy, they use a southern pride gasser, kid rock lives about a mile away and is there a lot he likes to help special needs kids with meals and gifts there, good luck

The SS door won't seal up like a gasket kit, I have the SS door and it's better than OEM but it isn't completely air tight although after the seams get gunked up it's pretty close. I like the SS door and would buy again, I don't have any issues with temperature control.

I found that without using water (sand in water pan for me) I just taped up the door with metal duct tape and nothing leaks.

I havent gotten a gasket kit (yet), but carefully bending the door to fit the arc of the barrell took care of most of the leakage. I havent had any issue with temp control. Using sand or pea gravel in the water pan has given me better results and better bark on the meat.

I haven't had no problem with leaks after I used it a few times no leaks at all with my door but if you have xtra money I guess go buy one your food won't taste any better if your door is leaking that bad that you can't control temp then bend or adjust door it shouldn't leak after you use it a few times

I just did my first smoke on mine with the SS door. It did make a difference in regards to sealing it up. One way I could tell is that the thing snuffed itself out once I closed it up. My previous smokes with the stock door would burn all my coal after I shut it down. I also have the latch which applies some pressure to the door as well. I have no gaskets on mine.

IMO, I first installed gasket round the official door and also round the upper end of the central section.
No more leacks round the door.
Anyhow I ordered the CB stainless door and I installed it (but I had to remove the gasket because the door is super adherent.
Now I have the CB door wich does not leack and the gasket and rhe WSM is almost totally seald.
Maybe I should replace the gasket after 3 years !!

I just tweaked the original door by hand till it fit "mostly" tight, a couple of smokes later and just a whiff of smoke came out, and the coals extinguish fast when all closed down.
I had considered the gasket around the door, but it's not needed IF you take the time to carefully bend the original door to shape.
