Greetings Brethren,
I met Phil at the Jack Daniels where he was introduced to and quickly became a part of Dizzy Pig BBQ team site.
This tatooed boy with a Long Island accent wasted no time by commandeering the yet-to-be-released xlbge and cooking a huge prime rib and a couple Jimmy Dean sausage fatties......
I cannot think of a better way to make friends and we hit it off like we'd known each other for years.
I helped cook my first pig when I was 13 in south eastern North Carolina where the term "barbecue" still means a plate of chopped pork, hushpuppies, coleslaw, baked beans, hot vinegar sauce and endless pitchers of sweet iced tea.
I moved to the northeast nearly 4 years ago, recently married the best person I know (WooKitties) and to top it off, just moved to south of the Mason-Dixon where the air is sweet and the livin is easy.
My mind always wanders to food and it seems conversations always ends up there.... when I wake up in the morning, I think about what I'm going to cook for dinner.
Competed with the Dizzy Pig BBQ Team (http://www.dizzypigbbq.com) since the beginning and it's opened up a whole new world of some of the best folks I've ever met.
I like the feel of this place..... a nice balance of taking your food very seriously and having fun by not taking yourselves too seriously..... a great combination...... I'm glad to meet y'all.
