• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Have any of you ever used it? How ,and is it any good ?
I read that it is out of production, the company in New Orleans was bought out. I have a knock off recipe. A few bottles are on ebay.

If you can't get that, hook with a MoFo brother to get some "Show Me" sauce.

I use Woody's all the time when I make hamburgers.
I just pour in a little bit and mix with the meat and make patties.
It adds a great flavor to the burgers.
Don't add too much or the meat will be too thin.

I like it...good stuff

Ok this is what I got off the net word for word

Woody's Cook-In Sauce
> 1 can beef consomme
> 1 soup can water
> 1/2 cup soy sauce
> 3 tbsp. lemon juice
> 1 tsp. hickory smoke liquid
> Salt
> Pepper
>
> Combine all the above ingredients and baste brisket while cooking.

Hummm, here are the ingredients on the Woody's label.

Ingredients: .1% sodium benzoate, anchovies, carmel color, FD&C RED No. 40, flavoring, hickory smoke, onions, potassium sorbate, salt, soy sauce, soybean oil, spices, sugar, tamarinds, tomato paste, water, white and wine vinegars, xanthan gum.

Might be worth tweeking that recipe a bit using this info.

1st things 1st .....remember LOW & SLOW

I really have to say something about this recipe.
(1st read the Brethren Recipes and don't be afraid to ASK questions)

That is a very good recipe when fixed in the OVEN in a pan and foiled.
The meat will fall apart. (I have done this many times).
I really believe in the Campbells Beef Consume.

If you want to mix all those ingredients together and cook in the OVEN
you will have a great brisqet because it cooks in the juices in the OVEN
in about 4 hours.

I have not tried Woody's on a brisqet that I smoke.
It is a very good sauce and as I said before ...Makes great burgers.
