I recently bought wood for smoking from doitbest.com and it was a smooth transaction.
Went to try Good Co. Barbecue here in Houston and saw a sign for 50lbs of wood for $14 (hickory, mesquite and pecan I think) on the way out. That's sounds like a good price.
Haa anyone tried this? I'm new to Houston, so don't know if Good Co. operates in other cities or states.
BTW - the meats were dry and tasted like they had been "smoked" in a gas chamber. No smoke flavor in wifey's ribs, and I had bits that tasted like camphor in my spicy pork. Everything else was good though (coleslaw, potato salad, jalapeno cheese bread, pecan pie)
