• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just got home from a very enjoyable meeting with Plowboy and HoDeDo. They drove in from KC tonight to pick up some equipment for Plowboy's BBQ trailer that he is having built. We ate at my favorite Q joint, Julius' Rib cage. They have been in business for about 20 years and one of the original cooks has come back to cook for them. The food was extra good tonight so I complemented him. He then gave me a tour of their cooking area which features a large Oklahoma Joes smoker. The cook only on hickory logs, or as Kenny the cook told me, the old fashioned way. It is one of the few around here that still cook only on wood. You sure can tell a difference.

Our bash was short due to the fact that Todd and Andy needed to drive back to KC and there wasn't any alcohol involved. It was a nice visit non the less. Thanks for giving me the ring guys. Glad you enjoyed the food.

Wow, for the first time, I have met two of the three people mentioned in one post! Thank God for road trips!

BigDog,

You are da MAN!!!! That was some awesome BBQ, my friend. 5 for 5 on the combo platter: ribs, ham, turkey, hot link, and brisket. That was the 2nd best spare rib from restaurant I've ever had. 1st being Daisy Mae's in NYC.

Thanks again, Steve. Sure was nice seeing you again.

Todd

EDIT: P.S. LOLA (my GPS) sent us up 135 instead of 335 on the way home. We were 14 miles from Topeka when we realized we were heading NW instead of NE. We were deep in conversation and trusted LOLA to get us home... that BEYOTCH. Had to back track almost 90 minutes to get Andy's truck in Ottawa, KS.

Here's what we picked up. A Hobart commercial pass through fridge and a Duke serving station out of a Subway restaurant. Both will be built into a new 22' comp/vending trailer. Ordered it this week.

Julius' Rib cage! I havent eaten there in years.

Todd, my GPS always tries to send me through Topeka on my way home from there. Somedays the b!tch is like my ex wife, except this one has a volume control!

Hey Todd was the frig new and what did you pay for it if I can ask.

Used. I think it was $430, or something like that, which included a handing fee for crating it. The DUKE was $325 with the handing fee.

I'm going to talk to Ron about building a little door in the side of the trailer so I can access the bottom door of the pass through fridge. That way, I can load the fridge from the outside.

That would be kool I don't see why he couldn't do that.
