• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Since I planned to cook this weekend, we will be getting torrential freezing rain and thunderstorms.

I seem to remember a time when I cooked in nice weather, but except for the Paul Kirk class, every time I cook it rains.

If I ever cook competitions, I'll always pack a raincoat-- and suggest you do the same.

Anybody else a dedicated rain cooker?

Sounds like you're all set to enter the NEBS contests. I think they only hold them in the rain.

Every time I cook it rains, I was just trying to figure out what to cook this weekend, thanks for the weather update!

Your not alone on this one. High wind warning tomorrow thru Sunday morning. Sustained winds between 25 to 35 mph. Gusts up to 60 mph. Oh yea, seems it rains every day here for danged near the entire month. I think we have had sun for like 5 days this month. Hell they said no rain the other day, me and wife were moving some furniture in my p/u truck and the heavens opend up. WTF?

It just aint right.

Yes, I really wanted to cook a couple pork shoulders this weekend but may have to settle for something simpler like a thick, smoky florentine-style steak.

Thanks for sharing your bad luck with the rest of us Noreasterners, yackbardchef!

Well I don't want to let on where a person can live with over 300 sunny days a year!

I like cooking in the rain.
A couple weeks ago I had both WSM going on my patio (which is covered)
and I had a small fan blowing the smoke away and the smoke was slowly
flowing up and over the eave of the house and my neighbor came
walking down the alley and thought my house was on fire.

I love cooking like that ....but in your case.....you can keep that
freezing rain up there.

Cooking in the rain is fun--unless it is cold. I actually have an entire playlist of "Rain" songs on my MP3 player. Just ask Team Q or Jeff in KC about the contest in Warsaw, MO!:eusa_clap

The Spicewine may not rust, but I certainly do. Michele doesn't mind q'ing in the rain but with the torrential downpours and 50 MPH winds they are predicting tommorrow I don't think she will be in a hurry to Q tommorrow. We will probably Q on Sunday cause I don't mind the wind or getting up real early in the morning. BTW our second Spicewine shipped yesterday.

It rained in August. It rained ALL of August. It rained two nights ago. I only know that because the pavement was wet when I got up. Sunny and almost no wind predicted through the weekend.

Sorry guys. I live in the desert. I sympathize with you, but you have the color green in your lives.

I cooked up a turkey boob and a pair of pork loin roasts on Saturday in the rain. I just rolled the Brinkman into the garage a bit and all was fine.

I will fire up the gas grill in the snow for some steaks & chops.

Here in the land o' blue tarps, it's one activity I don't really mind in the rain! Now fryin' turkeys is another story.

I sure like the weather here in the Carribean. I pretty much eat grilled food about 3 or 4 times a week. Porter House most of the time. Wife never has to ask me whats for dinner. She knows if she asks me, The answer will be Porter House and spuds. LOL

I hear ya... Guido wanted to Smoke some ribs this weekend but it's just too crappy out.
It seemed to rain every weekend this summer, or at least a lot of them!
