• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

It needs to be mentioned that members who live outside of the US are not eligible for the prize. Still, bragging rights are always good. And there's that nifty certificate, too.

It's stated clearly for all to see in the header of my OP that the prize is for all U.S. winners...

There's still time to enter the Grill shots TD before it ends, or either of the other two TDs!

Exactly. Which makes Non US members second class Brethren as far as TDs are concerned, and may as well not enter at all if they're interested in the prize.

This really boils down to shipping regulations in this case, especially as it relates to perishables like meat, which cannot be shipped overseas. You have made your position known about this more than once in this thread, as well as other times relating to prizes, and I don't really see how continuing to grind your axe about it is productive at all...

Because you keep ALLOWING sponsors who won't ship overseas for what ever reason. That is a slap in the face to our non US residing members. Do you really want to disenfranchise members from other countries? Sometimes it appears that way. And yes. This topic is brought up because it is about fairness. If you have prizes at all, then they should be available to ALL.

I became disinterested in entering TD's, because it's basically a photography contest at this point.

It's pretty much been a photography contest since the beginning, BUT, it's not unusual that the best looking picture doesn't always win. Contestants are usually judged not just by their photos, but also how appetizing it looks as well as the effort and creativity that went into the entry...

For example, in the recent "Legs" Throwdown, two turkey legs in a white bowl with BBQ sauce smudges sitting on a diving board no less won over a number of photos that were better in a number of ways, simply because that entry best characterized the category.

If more folks thought that way (and perhaps they do now), I'd be happy to enter. I just know how things were when I was far more active, and it was a turn-off IMO.

I edited my post after you responded - please note:

Anyway, this thread has gone WAY off track and the latest direction it has gone should be a thread in the TD forum itself.

My legs were and still are sexy even with bbq smudges. Take a look at my id tap that challenge, by no means is that "good photography"

To answer the OP question..
.....I was going to suggest a thread just for TD's... but, apparently there is one?
I'll read the announcement, then not be able to find it again a few days later.

I was/am thinking about entering the Noob TD. The reason I haven't entered previously is because I don't think my food (or Pics) can measure up to some of the entries I've seen. The 'Noob TD' takes some of the angst out of the equation because I know (assume) the other entries will be of newb caliber also and I might have a chance.
