• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

What do you prefer with your barbecue?

White bread
Corn bread
Crackers
Tortillas

(I don’t know how to start a poll)

I grew up with white bread. More and more now days, nothing beats a brisket taco (tortilla). Now I’m in the Keto phase (down 30 lbs) I enjoy the meat and nothing else.

Of those choices, white. Pretty common at some of the more traditional places in town to plop a bunch of meat with a squirt of sauce onto some white bread to soak up all the juices and sauce from the meat.

Chicago southside rib tips come with a piece of white bread, which is simply an edible napkin.

Usually I leave the bread on the plate. Coleslaw, pickles and onion

I like cornbread with my bbq of those choices, but more often our starch is mac and cheese or potato salad with bbq.

White bread and then tortillas for tacos out of the leftovers.

Of the choices provided in the OP ... I'll take the white bread - if it is "Texas Toast" style and cooked like garlic bread.

If it is a bun, I would prefer it to be "potato buns" (I think that may be closest to white bread)

Seriously? Extra carbs homie?

How about I drive a freight train up your alley?

Green Chile and roasted baby potatoes

Are there other options served with your plate at BBQ restaurants in your area? I probably eat out less often than most, but times I have these were provided. I just think it’s interesting. While I thoroughly understand and live the no bread life most of the time, I would step over the other three to get to cornbread dripping with butter — that is tough to pass up. My son growing up played in guessing well over a hundred junior golf tournaments. Several in the West Texas area served smoked sausage wrapped in fresh steamed flour tortillas with a Chipotle bbq sauce to players for free and spectators at a low price.

Hushpuppies. I won't lie..i partially judge a place by 1)if they have hushpuppies 2) do they make them or are they some crappy premade frozen variety, and 3) how good are they.

I understand that lots of places/ areas dont have such delicacies, maybe one day they will get lucky enough haha jj. Ive never (yet) been to skylight or sam jones, where I'm sure the cornbread is delicious and also part of the experience/history. Nor to the famous texas etc establishments where white bread is the norm.

But good que, good slaw (vinegary with sweetness) good hushpuppies...dip that puppy in the slaw juice...my goodness. Got to go raid the fridge now...this is gonna be disappointing....
