What's happenin BBQ Brethren? I am so glad I found this forum! I'm a griller from way back. I don't have a "smoker" but routinely use my weber for slow cookin via indirect heat. I don't classify myself as a pork rib master griller but the fam usually shows up hungry whenever we fire up the grill.
In addition to grillin, my hobby is woodworking. I'm not a tradesman but enjoy working with wood. I actually stumbled on to this forum when searching for BBQ cart plans to build for my weber kettle grill.
I will retire from government service after a 31 year career on December 31st. My wife and I live in southeaster NC about 1 hour from southern NC beaches.
My wife and I have a building at home referred to as "The Cave". It's not a "Man Cave" to speak of because women are definitely invited. It's a place where we spend a lot of time with friends and it splits time as a woodworking shop. The Cave is how I got my nickname "Kave". That's what all my buddies call me. And since everyone here loves to BBQ then I'm certain we will be buddies and you can call me Kave also!
We love to travel via our class c motorhome. We have 3 adult young men. Two of them are married and 1 is in a long term relationship. We have two beautiful granddaughters.
I look forward to learning from some real pitmasters and hope to contribute when I can.
