• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just for chits and giggles, what would be your favorite meal.

i voted brisket...don't know that i've ever had a bad brisket. some drier than others, but never a bad one.

4 lbs Large Alaskan King Crab legs with a side of two Whole main lobsters
and a steamed artichoke
( I know it's not on the list, but you asked)

I love BBQ, and I voted "a fine meal prepared by me for friends" because I really do enjoy the social aspects of dining, and I do love to cook for others. Part of that "fine meal" for me would almost always be BBQ.

However, If I could choose only one menu Item, a good cut of beef steak, either the rib eye or strip, cooked just past rare, nicely charred on the outside, with a perfectly baked potato, and creamed spinach made with real cream, or even better cream cheese. A good French or Italian bread, a good Shirez wine, or a red Zin, coffee and a good single malt later.

Morimoto doing omakase with wine/sake parings for my wife and I and two other couples in my home.

I'm living large if I get to pick. I cook great meals for others all the time.

Mini Penne with Italian sausage, peppers, onions, black olives a hearty marinara topped with good romano cheese, some really good bread, and a nice baby spinach and lettuce salad with a tasty vinegarette, cooked by someone else.

I cook every day for loved ones and enjoy it alot, some one else cooking for me is a real treat.

Dang it KC, you are making me have second thoughts, here. That sounds wonderful.

Favorite meal is one with friends in a restaurant with food that surprises the hell out of you.

I like them all.... Except Vienna Susages. MMM Maybe I could smoke them, bacon wrapped???? Then I'd probably like them too...

Me and MrsMista had 3#'s of Alaskan King Crab legs with Garlic Butter and some Garbanzo beans prepared from a recipe I got froma Sri Lankan grandmother.

Yummo!

I can think of several meals I like to cook for friends... from brisket to pulled pork to steak au poivre, salt-packed prime rib, cedar planked salmon. All with appetizers, sides, dessert. When it's with friends, I like to make it a long process, with wines where appropriate.

It dont matter to me as long as it is cooked on a grill or smoker with good freinds enjoying the whole process.

Charred Porterhouse, medium rare, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, buttered string beans, and a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing and a piece of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert-- all had with my wife sitting right next to me. Oban over one cube of ice to drink......

I am not a fussy eater so anything in the company of my loved ones or friends is just fine by me.

Our family tradition as been, on your birthday, you can ANYTHING you want for dinner. Onfe of the other family members has to cook it, and you get served as if you are royalty.

My choice: Cheeseburger, fries and onion rings.

That or chilli Dogs seems to be what crosses my mind the most when I think of having something for dinner in the middle of the day. If it is something I am gong to cook then it is BBQ, usually the last bit of food porn I see on the site, or the last recipe I read thru in a cookbook.

Wow! So many meals, so little time! :-D

I voted for pork wibs... That's my favorite BBQ meal, but Brisket and chicken are close.

Non-BBQ get more diverse... Here's some of my favorites, in no particular order

1. Sushi (especially hamachi and shiro maguro)
2. Steak (especially a fillet, Pittsburgh style)
3. Beef roast with smashed taters and fresh sweet corn
4. Boiled country ribs and sour kraut (I know... boiled...)
5. Corned beefwith cabbage, taters and carrots

There's so many more...
