• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Inspiration provided by Swamp and Leeanza. I had to have me one of these farkin things! So much fun! Weber bottom is whats left of the $10.00 cl purchase for my barrel(guess maybe I should save it for something). Santa brings good toys to our house.

Anybody have any ideas and pics of what I can cook with this thing other than birds? Thanks,

I like that mod! Chicken looks good as well! A baby piglet would fit on that spit:biggrin::biggrin:

What else to cook? Hmmm... porl loins, ham, tied roast, prime rib, 4 hot dogs!

Ah fin that is a thing of beauty. I have the makings for one of those I salvaged a rotisserie from an old grill. Seeing that pron oh yea

I just FOUND a tiss still in the box (garbage pick mod.) that's a great idea, may be trying that this weekend!
Where did you get the extension ring??

That looks like fun SF. The chicken looks great. I want some of that8-):icon_bigsmil

Weber sells the kit so maybe you can just ge the ring. I have one and love it for hot cooking. But too many toys and not enough time to use them. The Gasser has IR burner with a smoke box as well and the Rotisserie so easier than pulling out the poor kettle.

OK - Missread the post the first time. Thought you got garlic salt for Christmas

The rotisery rig is really nice too

That chicky looks pretty good. And that spinny thingy is neat too.

RF, your right I did get garlic salt in my stocking! Santa was so smart this year.
You can find the whole thing on Amazon for about $130.00.

Thinkin of doing maybe a whole turkey, but I'm a total rookie when it comes to tying chit up so it dosen't burn.

Maybe a small tri-tip for my next victim?

You could do ribs, just make a small cut every 2nd or 3rd rib I would think, then thread the slab onto the rod.

Skewers and kabobs with the right attachments.

Kevin, thats one beautiful chicken! I bet it tasted great! I hear a rib roast is next???

Probably a stoopid question but I figure I'm here to learn. Do you put the lid on when cooking?

Great looking bird!

/never rotissed anything

Does anyone know if that would fit on a UDS? Looks like it would.

AG & Az the answer is yes! Not stupid at all, as I have posed the very same question before. I had it on during the first part of the cook so as to sink some smoke into it, then left it off at the end so I could baste it.
I bought that kettle on cl for 10 bucks for that very purpose. Accordingly, I have a lidless kettle at my house.

Very nice, Kevin! Pretty much anything you would cook indirect can be done on the Rotisserie! You did use the lid didn't you? I run mine @350* with the lid on, invest in a thermometer in the lid (like a newer Genesis or a Tel-Tru from BBQ Guru) and stick it in the lid vent. I just found a Weber Basket rotisserie (EZ-Que) for my Genesis gasser on CL for $20, I was hoping it would fit the kettle but it's too long. And and to answer jgh's question, it will fit on a drum and I'm currently working a motor and spit rod just for the UDS.

Kevin-Is the counterbalance necessary on the Weber spit rod?
I cut a slot where the rod goes through rotis ring to the motor mount.
