• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hey All...I have done many a pork butt for pulled pork and want to try something different this weekend. I want to do some sort of beef roast that I can do a low and slow cook with and then pull for a BBQ sandwich. What is my best bet for a hunk of meat to get and how would you do it?

Thanks!

Z

Chuck roast for sure.....you can either cook low and slow or hotter (like 300). They're pretty forgiving and taste awesome......

i cant thinl of anything to pul better then a pork putt smoked but if you never had a skirt stesak marinated and grlled you csan chop it up too and use it in a sandwich i do.
try some skirt steaks not exactly pulled but chopped up its delicious, used for carnes asda tacos after you grill them ,also served with fried onions its delicious.

Chuck roast for sure, and look for a large one, over 4 lbs. Look for a lot of marbling in the meat. They'll cook up nicer.

If you don't see a larger chuck on display, ask the meat stock person to cut one up at the poundage you desire, and mention the more marbling the better.

I usually wait till they go on sale, and buy several. They freeze quite well.

Rich beefy flavor, and melt in your mouth. It's hard to beat pulled beef for that wow factor when it hits your taste buds.
