• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Am I misunderstanding this? In videos of people handling hot meat directly on grill, there look like a layer of cloth gloves underneath their black nitrile ones. Is that the reason people can hold hot meat for so long? I sure cannot do that after all these years. What kind of gloves are suitable for that layer?

yeah that's too much trouble and cost. I just use these they are fantastic.

Thank you for your suggestion! I can't find the long sleeve one in my country yet but I'll keep looking. The cotton gloves, do you wash them or are they 1 time use?

you can wash cotton under gloves
Don't know why you would wash them, they don't come in contact with any food. I just re use them until I throw them away. As for the black nitrite gloves, I just wash them while still on my hands with dishwasher soap and keep using until they wear out. The problem I have is my hand size. Can't get them large enough to make easy on and off but I manage.

Wearing cotton gloves under blue nitrite gloves saves my fingers when doing pulled pork

wonder what civilian shipping to Thailand would be lol

I bought a pair of these bbq gloves on amazon a while back and they're the best thing I've ever purchased, honestly. They're thick enough to be able to handle hot things easily, but not so bulky that you can't do delicate things. Great for shredding hot meat, and when you're done, just leave them on and wash like you're washing your hands.

Super easy to clean to those are like short repiccas

What do you think of this? Found on a local online store. Advertised as heat resistance microwave gloves. The kind of padding on their surface are probably not ideal for handling meat directly? They're really cheap I'm skeptical.

This one is $2

I guess it would depend on the use. I wouldn't wanna use it for anything wet. Might be ok to grab something real fast off the grill but I'm not a fan of any kinda knit gloves and slimer meats. Do you not have amazon where you are?

I use these cotton gloves under my blue nitrile gloves. Don't need to spend extra for the thicker black ones.

This^^^^ above. I recently wanted to order some new white gloves to replace the old ones that had become stained and cuffs stretched out. Ordered some from Big Poppa smokers thinking they would be good quality. Wrong. Very thin material. So did some research and found different ratings for gloves and found that 7 gauge gloves were the thickest offered as glove liners. So ordered some amazon and while slightly thicker, they were no where close to the thickness of the ones I was trying to replace. Did some asking around and found many people buying the ones Andy referenced above. They are definitely thicker, but not as thick as the ones I'm replacing. The ones I am replacing I purchased from local Grainger warehouse near my house nearly 20 years ago. I recall them being described as glove liners for freezer work. A search on Grainger returns nothing with that description and the folks working the front counter say they have never heard of a liner for freezer gloves. They used to be hanging on the wall in the front of the store. So, Harbor Freight it is.
