• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

What are these things?

It's just a marketing ploy. They've created a clever name and trademarked it to make people think it's something special. But as the description states, "... Three extra-meaty pork shanks ..."

They're just meaty pork shanks. Doesn't sound all that shanktacular.

I was wondering what cut they were and where they come from. The only shank I'm familiar with is the lower 1/2 of a shoulder cut, which is a lot bigger than these things are. Like I said, they're a bit bigger than a drumstick and the bone is like a little spoon. Never seen 'em before.

looks like the things cut from a crown roast maybe?

They are from the lower shank where it has two bones. You can buy them in bulk from food service meat suppliers. The SD Pork Producers set up booths and sell them for $1 each at all major food events. They would be good but are kinda high priced for what you get.

I cringe when I see Uno and Chicago in the same sign, because the franchises are not even close to what Uno's is.

You will not be able to find a single item on that menu at the original Uno's downtown, including the pizza.

The Chicago Style pizza at the franchises is best compared against Domino's or better yet, Chucky Cheese pizza.

what midnight said. They are from what would be the forearm.

Interesting... I'll have to see if I can find a chart that shows that cut and see if my butcher can get hold of some for me. I wouldn't mind fooling around with them and maybe come up with some handy snacks for cookouts, etc. They don't have much in the way of fat or other nasty stuff so they'd make for some good finger food. Cooked right, I could see where these could be pretty popular.
