Well, to celebrate the life of my best friend's youngest (who was hit by a car and killed last year) and to spend time with them in their time of need, we planned a pig roast this weekend. It went off better than I could have hoped, considering none of us had ever done a whole pig before.

It fed somewhere in the range of 50 people. Not bad considering it snowed the day before!

I'm already planning another pig roast for the 4th of July.

Looks like a great time! Food, friends and family, nothing better.... Pig looks GREAT also. Love a good pig roast.

Thanks all for the sentiment, but this post was all about the barbecue. It made a very bright part of a very sad weekend, and I'm already planning another pig roast for the 4th of July. Hopefully I learned enough from this one to make the next one even better!

Very honorable of you to take care of friends with a big pig feast.

Man that is so sad and wow what a good friend they have in you all. Glad all went well for you and the food looked to be spot on good.
