Well the weekend Q came off with only one hitch. Rain all day today.
But here are the results.
2 beer can chickens went on the Weber Kettle last night. Lesson learned: Gold, Silver, Platinum. Don't mean POOPIE. None of the 22.5 inch Webers will fit a drunken chicken. Chickens smash against the lid.
Anyway, they were moist and awesome.
8am today, started the coals in the chimney. 1 4# pork loin, 3 bb's, 1 4# bottom round all rubbed in So Flav Cajun and Charbroil. 1 7# turkey breast injected to hell and back with a sweet and tangy bottled injector sauce.
JD and Fruit Punch in the sprayer. BBs wrapped after 2 hours (11:30) and the pork loin and roast wrapped at 165.
Used Phils present, a remote Nu Temp in the beef roast. Saved me a hell of alot of wet clothes, not having to run back and forth in the rain. Thanks Bro
Picked up mom at 2:45. At 2:30, I threw 2 poblanos cut in half with mexican 3 cheese above the heat shield. 250 below the shield, only 150 in the shield compartment (finally remembered to put a thermo up there to see) At 3, moved them down into the chamber to get some heat.
Loin and roast in cooler at 190 (1pm and 3pm respecitively).
Ribs unwrapped and devoured (2.5 slabs) at 3:30. Same with the peppers. Not turds, but a good variation.
At 5:15, took loin out of cooler at 155. Sliced up. Fall apart good. Mom had 2 pieces, Wife had a big piece, and so do the 4 year old. Loin is my signature dish, and I did up an awesome one.
Drove my mom home at 7pm, just got back home. Stopped at White Castle for a 10 pack and some O Rings. Great way to cap off a great Q weekend.
Hope you all had a good time too.
Safe weekend to all.
