I have a 2010 Weber Summit Gas Grill. For some reason it seems that my propane tank is emptying much faster than normal. I have used several different tanks and it has happened on each one. I always shut it off at the tank and on the grill after every use. Has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing it?

My regulator just went bad in my Weber gasser. Was leaking from a crimped connector in the hose. Open the tank and shut down the burners. Spray everything with a soap/water mixture and look for bubbles.

But would it still leak even when the tank was shut down closed?

No but if you are leaking from somewhere else while the grill is in use it will cause the tank to run low a lot faster. By using different tanks you have ruled out the possibility that the tank valve is bad. Move onto the reg. If thats not it see if your burners are blown out and youre losing a lot that way. Has to be an answer somewhere. Start checking things off the list of what it could be.

Sounds good. Thanks.

I agree but focus on the connector at the tank first and work your way up. Make sure the tank is shut off tightly.

Wipe everything, all connections fittings and hoses, with soapy water looking for bubbles.
Turn tank on then start checking at the tank connection and work your way up to the grill, be sure to check the hose as it can develope a pinhole.
