• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hi all
I was lucky enough to get a weber kettle for Christmas and even better a copper one!!!! Anyway my question is the lid does not seem to fit right. Almost seems a tad oval ed and you have got to press down for it to fit.on.is this normal or should it just drop on?

Take it back. If it is brand new and it doesn't fit right. ObViously there is a problem replace it.

Put a long edge on the lawn and put your weight on the top side to tweak it back closer to cylindrical. Take it back if that doesn't work

If it's not too bad just do what been suggested. It seems like a lot come that way now. I got a Crimson one a couple weeks ago and bought my son a black one for Christmas. Both were slightly out of round. I just figured out where the "oval" ends were and pushed them towards to center a tad until the lid fit like it's suppose to. It shouldn't take much.

Just a few quick bends in the right place and its fixed, I put a gasket on mine and it worked great,,

Mine leaked too, emailed Weber measurements and they shipped a new lid. No questions asked. If it is new you may want to try that. I talked to a wonderful lady at Weber who just said take two measurements showing it is out of round and one of the top of the lid ( assuming to show it hasn't been dropped). As soon as she got the email she shipped out a new lid.

The new one leaked as bad or worse than the original. So I just cooked on it. After a few cooks the original one sealed up great.

Thanks for the reply guys. That is kinda what I thought you would say.ill measure and do a little t week,!

If you can't get it adjusted and you really like the grill I'd just call Weber as others have mentioned. They'll send you a replacement lid. They have great customer service.

Call Weber.

I sold grills this past summer and Weber customer service is very helpful. We had a couple of kettles come in with blemishes in the enamel and the Ontario sales rep sent replacements. You'll probably have to take the handle off and re-install on the replacement lid if you decide to pursue this. Have your serial # ready when you call them.

I bought a 22 inch Weber, new, off of Craig's List
The price was right, but I could see the box had been dropped probably a few times.
When I set the grill up, the lid did not fit as well as I would have liked.

Since I bought the grill at bargain prices I went looking for a gasket
