• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Weber & Blackstone to Combine.

Being in the 4th Quarter of my advanced beginner cooking game, sipping my morning coffee with two Tylenol ---I began to ponder.

Two brands Two Products:
Blackstone Tabletop $65*
Weber WGA** $70*

In these times I could literally do 90% of my cooking on these two units. I don't and don't want to, but I could.

*May be off a buck but not many
** My WGA is charcoal. Had the WGA-Gas and didn't like it at all

I have had Weber grills and smokers for a long time and they have always provided good quality vs cost, I have several Blackstone flat tops and all have performed fine, every company has a cheaper line and they are not always good. I would like to have 1 of the newer gas grills that has been redesigned, burners set lower and less chance of flare ups causing fires. Hard to let go of $1000+ when your retired , who knows only a couple of house payments left lol

I wonder if this is one of a number of similar mergers by Weber to control a larger market share of the outdoor cooking products market and increase the value of the stock. It would make sense to add a large charcoal brand to the portfolio, like Kingsford, for example.

Both companies are owned by private equity firm BDT Capital Partners. This is the same company that bought Whataburger. Press says they will continue to operate as two different companies, both will benefit by the value BDT adds.
