Vortex question

I got my Vortex today and a pack of wings. To shorten my learning curve with this thing what is the best way to run the Weber for optimum cook performance? My Weber is the One Touch Platinum with the top vent right in the center.

Fire up the fuel in the Vortex, wait till temp. Is screaming, spread out your meat and rotate the lid every 10-15 minutes. Wings are likely done in about 40-50 minutes without even turning. I flip mid-way just because...

So I take it you leave the bottom vent fins wide open?

Yes, full air top and bottom for me...

With jumbo joe I throttled them down some, but that's alot smaller grill. Let us know how they turn out bud!

All vents open...check and flip after 30 min...like said earlier prolly done in 45...but as long as 60. Be prepared for the best wings you have ever cooked.

Did some last night and took left overs to work....everyone wanted the secret.

on edit what size did you go with?

I got it from bbqsmokermods.com and they said to get the medium which I did. It was $10 cheaper to my door than Owens who was out of the mediums.

I'll not only let y'all know how they turned out but I'll post some action shots too. :wink:
