Vision lump. Bad bag or just bad?

I've used RO lump with the occasional Cowboy and for the most part it's been o.k. Was in Sam's so thought I would try a bag of Vision. Filled my Primo this morning, and it's easily the worst bag of lump I've ever had. A huge amount of dust, small tree branches, and quite of bit of half baked lump. Is this the normal for Vision, or did I just get a bad batch?

Ive seen another bad review. Was hoping to hear good things, 11.xx for a 20lb bag at Sam's is solid

I think it is normal. I have only used one bag and it was the same as you describe. I try to stick to RO or Rockwood.

I was not impressed with it. It was a whole lot of little pieces and dust with a few decent sized pieces thrown in. It seems to burn off faster than other lumps as well.

I used one bag a couple of weekends ago and it was the same as you are describing. I couldn't even get most of it to burn. At the end of my cook I had tree branch things still sitting in my fire basket that had not even smoldered. I won't get again. I'll stick to royal oak.

I've got a brisket on right now, and it's already a small battle to keep the temps up.

I've got a bag I've yet to use, so I cant say. I have heard nothing but bad reviews though.

Dad picked me up a bag form Sam's last year and I had the same type issues. Lots of dust and uncarbonized pieces. Burned ok in my drum but I'm sticking with RO.

In the interest of fairness, I sent an email to Vision this morning. Of course, I got the thing about their standards being high. They are sending me a comp bag of lump. I think when it comes, I'm going to dump it all on a tarp, and if it's the same type stuff I'll send them a pic. Like everyone else though, I'm going to stick with RO.

BTW, I have the intake wide open on my Primo and I'm only getting 280 out of this stuff
