Vintage Kamado Grill

It came with no firebox but I'm unfamiliar what was original on it. It came with a 12 inch fire ring for the bottom. And a 18 inch ring for the top. And two grates. I bought some upgrades. Hinges are a lil rusty inside is very clean. Looks barely used. Can still see the original green on the inside

As I recall these old kamados are not ceramic and do not tolerate highs. No high temp grilling, bbq smoking temps only.
Thanks for the heads up. There's not too much literature on these old ones. I found a patent linked to it but it doesn't explain any of that or the original parts to use. I planed on only really doing smoking and maybe try to imitate a barbacoa pit. So basically low and slow long cooks

Great find. A buddy has one from the 60's, he still uses it but burns briquettes and keeps the pit temp no higher than 250°. Member 'swamprb' might have some posts dealing with repair and restoration of the vintage kamodo cookers.
