• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

While perusing a Face Book group I saw someone talking about cleaning their pit and they used vinegar sprayed in their firebox to neutralize any alkalinity, thereby helping to prevent rust. It was the first I'd ever heard of it. I am by no means a chemist but I'm sure there are a few hanging around here.

What say the Brethren?

I know it works when refurbishing cast iron pans. The Griswold site says you have to stop the reaction or it will eat the whole pan.
